Mildred ‘Millie’ M. Lovrien

RUIDOSO, New Mexico - Mildred ‘Millie’ M. Loverin of Ruidoso, New Mexico passed away at the young age of 96 on Sept. 5, 2025 at her home in Ruidoso.
Millie was born on May 21,1929 in rural Grundy County, Iowa to Linn and Hazel (Arnold) Doak. She graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1947, and later married Richard D. Loverin. They had two sons, Dennis ‘Denny’ Loverin and Richard L. Loverin.
Millie’s early childhood education began by attending Melrose No. 6 country school through the eighth grade. From riding in a pony cart to a country school she debuted as “thoroughly modern Millie” when she drove herself to high school in a 1935 Ford Coupe. Millie was a fun-loving person and loved to spend time with friends, neighbors, her church family and “Reni.” And oh yes, Denny and Richard loved mom’s cooking! Her greatest joy in life was her family. Until Millie’s health started to give away, one could find her making laps around the links at Sierra Blanca walking trail, while donning one of her many iconic hats.
Those left to cherish her memories are her two sons Denny (Susan) Loverin of Fort Worth, Texas and Richard (Janis) Loverin of Ruidoso, New Mexico; her grandchildren Cody (Kate) Loverin of Houston, Texas; Tiffany McKelvey of Aledo, Texas; Garrett (Jody) Loverin of Argyle, Texas; Brie (Rob) Sherwin; Heather (Sean) Simpson; her great grandchildren Allie, Carter, Katie Ruth and William Loverin; Grayson and Gavyn McKelvey; Madilyn and Paisley Loverin; and Mia Simpson. Also surviving is her brother John (Mary) Doak of Grundy Center; nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband Richard; her parents; brothers Lyle Doak, Irvin Doak and Carroll Doak; sisters Dorothy Marie Doak and Isabelle Diehm.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and caregivers, especially Betty Phillips, Ricky Phillips, Jo White, and Bea Harris who showed their care, compassion and support for Millie during her last season of life.
In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorial gifts to the ministry or charity of your choice.
